The ILPPP Forensic Clinic conducts a wide variety of criminal and civil forensic evaluations. We also provide scientific consultation to attorneys and agencies regarding the state of research and best practices related to forensic mental health.
Our team includes forensic psychiatrists, psychologists, and neuropsychologists. These different disciplines can each address many of the same forensic issues. However:
Psychiatrists are uniquely equipped to address issues involving physical health or psychiatric medication.
Psychologists are specially trained to administer psychological testing (e.g., IQ testing).
Neuropsychologists specialize in the evaluation of brain-behavior relationships.
If you are unsure what type of evaluation or consultation you need, or which professional discipline would be most appropriate for your case, we are happy to discuss it with you.
